Place of Remembrance
Hotel Silber

During the Nazi dictatorship, the “Hotel Silber” was the headquarters of the Gestapo for Württemberg and Hohenzollern. Since 2018, this has been a place for historical-political learning and encounters. It is operated by the House of History of Baden-Württemberg and co-designed by Initiative Lern- und Gedenkort Hotel Silber e. V.

The fate of the Jewish referee Julius Baumann (Stuttgarter Kickers), who was murdered by the National Socialists, is also addressed.

Football in Stuttgart under National Socialism | Lecture, city exploration, bus ride
With the “Stuttgart Declaration”, Jewish players and officials were excluded from football clubs immediately after the National Socialists came to power in 1933. During the city tour, we visit places in the city that played an important role for football in the Nazi era.
